Different ways to say the same thing !

Today I went to my favourite soya bean store to buy a take away bean curd, and as their regular customer, I knew its $2. But when the counter staff, a Chinese national lady, sweetly told me, its $2.20, I said, wah, increase price ah .... guess what, she said its a price adjustment since 1 Jan, and in a the sweetest tone she could. Wow ! I thought, how well she put it across, she said, the price adjustment is not across the board, only for some products ..... such, I believe, comes from both training and lots of self initiative. First, I really believe that there is some kind of adjustment .... cos, the packaging has changed to a nicer looking box, but perhaps, the contents has reduced, I cant tell anymore, since the size of the box has changed. So, the next time you want to increase your price, please change the way you package the same product, so that there is no way to make comparison, and make your customer believe that the extra 10% is to pay for something additional, when in fact, they may not be getting at all ....... :) At the end of the day, I am still a willing customer .... :) what a sweet success !
